~~Doc~~
Thursday was my latest prenatal appointment. Doc was irritated that I didn't have my glucometer with me, and again threatened to put me on meds for high fasting blood sugars if I "don't do something about it". Since I'm still nauseated all the time, I can't drink the water I need, so I have higher sugars than I should. ugh! Personally, though, I think she's overreacting. I'm never over 140, and most of the time I'm within the "normal" parameters (90-120--and that's normal for a non-diabetic person!). Anyway... I mentioned that my pulled groin muscle seems to be getting worse, and asked if there was anything else it could be. Turns out, it could be my pelvic bones separating, in anticipation of delivery. lovely! The only way to find out is to have an x-ray done, and that's just stupid. She could also prescribe some muscle relaxants, and if it helps, then we know it's the muscles. yay! I said I'd love that! Then she asked if I had someone that could care for the kids, since the muscle relaxants would knock me out. oh! Never mind then. I'd rather be in pain and awake, than out of it. So I've just to keep taking tylenol whenever it's too much. This week, I've had to take it before I go to bed, so that I can get to sleep. I hate taking meds. On a bright note, next week is my level-2 ultrasound, and they will check the baby's gender then!! wahoo! Less than a week away now.
~~Shopping~~
When we got back from the doctor, I called the boys' favorite baby-sitter, Amy, so I could have some well-deserved time to myself (P-chan was out of town this week). I went to the mall, since I had some gift certificates burning a hole in my purse. JCPenney is re-doing their escalator, so the store is a mess! I browsed all the 70%-off racks, and tried on some maternity clothes, but the only thing I liked was a red polo, and I already have one. *sigh* Why are all of the shirts cleavage-revealing?
Then I headed over to Motherhood. I tried on lots of things, luxuriating in the ...um...luxury... of being by myself! I ended up getting a red shirt, a tan/green blouse, a tan skirt, and a pink dress. Everything else either didn't fit me well, was see-through, or too expensive. I'm still on the prowl for more solid-colored shirts and skirts, but the dress is SO CUTE that I'll be okay for awhile.
Back at JCPenney, I remembered what the doc said about keeping my legs comfortable at night, and bought 2 king-sized pillows (1 firm, 1 extra-firm). I decided to skip the pillowcases, since they're waaaaaay too expensive ($25 for 2 pillowcases!!!???), and I can totally sew my own.
Then I went to Walgreens, where I had the most fun of the day! I had 3 store coupons for $5 off $20, plenty of coupons for body wash and shampoo, and grabbed the rebate catalog. In the end, I spent $51, got $14 back in Register Rewards, and will get another $45.88 in rebates. Here's what I got (some of them are rebates for my friend, but still...) :
In the end, I spent a net total of $13.43, which includes a lunch stop at BK with the boys. Plus, P-chan got home that night, yay!
~~puking~~
Krillin threw up that night, 3 different times, all before 6:30am. After that, he refused to go back to sleep, thinking that was making him puke. Then, all Friday, every time he drank something, he threw up. I told him I knew exactly how he felt. He spent the entire day lounging on the couch, and playing on the computer. At about 3, he fell asleep on the couch, and stayed asleep for almost 3 hours. When he woke up, he asked for something to eat and drink, so I got him toast and water. Yep, it came back up. The only thing he could keep down was Pepsi, if he drank it slowly, and it had ice. He seemed to be doing better, but still didn't have any energy. I told him that if he didn't throw up any more that night, he could play with friends the next day. He was afraid to go to sleep for the night, but I reminded him that he slept on the couch just fine, so he didn't have to sleep on his bed. He finally assented to getting comfy on the bean-bag on the floor of his room. He fell asleep to the story of Almanzo helping get the potatoes in the wagon for the potato-sellers from New York City.
The next day Krillin was all better. I still couldn't figure out what made him sick, though. Then his friend Mikey commented that he had been sick and puking, the day before he played with Krillin. mystery solved!
PS. I love the smilies I use! If you do, too, be sure to check out the site! (link on the bottom)

lol I have another shopping story for Cameron! Uh...what was the original price going to be? He likes retelling them to his friends and saying "she took it form &80 to $5". roflmao
By the way, great detective skills on the puking! hehe
Take a picture in that cute pink dress!
wowie wow! That's some day.
I had all kinds of pains during this last pregnancy. My doc finally prescribed Oxycodone. I was told to take it 3-4 times a day as needed; I took it about an hour before I went to bed and it did the trick. My major complaint at that point was that I couldn't immediately walk after standing without about a "8" pain. I didn't realize how bad it was until after Dana was born and I could actually swing my legs over the side of the bed and walk without having to psych myself out for it.
Cute clothes -- have you perused ebay? That's where I hit some major scores when I was pregnant with Aubrey. Craigslist helped me a lot with Dana. :)
