gypsy -- backdated

(so sorry for this, I thought I had posted it! ack!)
What? I didn't tell you yet? We're moving to Kentucky!! Tomorrow!! LOL Well, actually the movers come to pack everything, then the next day they'll load it into the truck, then we get a few days for cleaning, then I get to leave with Krillin to be able to close on the NEW HOUSE. Oh, I didn't mention that either? How bad I am!! LOL My camera ate the pictures (I'm so mad I could just...spit!!), so I can't post them. But rest assured that it's cute. And yes, cute means small. :D But it's our first house, so that's okay.

And now for something different...

1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? Hot Chocolate, as I'm lactose-intolerant.

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? Wrapped, but there's not very many from the big man, he leaves some little stuff.

3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? No lights so far, I haven't had the patience for them.

4. Do you hang mistletoe? No

5. When do you put up your decorations? Usually about 2 days before Christmas, but this year NONE for fear of the movers. LOL

6. What is your favorite holiday dish? Pecan pie and ham. and a new one that I had this year: cheesy potato bake!! yum!

7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child? Believe it or not, the year I "helped" Santa. :D see below!

8. When and how did you learn that Santa isn't real? My older sisters told my mom that she HAD TO tell me, when I was going on 10 years old. So they all told me that I would get to help Santa wrap the presents, and I had a blast! Then at one point, I looked around and said, "So, when will Santa get here?" My older sisters laughed (nicely, of course), and then explained why he wasn't there. I was kind of sad at the time, but now I know that was a good age for me to find out.

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? Yep! I would like to start the tradition of new jammies, but it's going on 7 years now, I think I'm too late. lol

10. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree? We just hang the ornaments on one at a time until the poor tree droops. LOL It's a mess and I LOVE it!

11. Snow! Love it or Dread it? DREAD!! It's pretty, but I really hate having to actually deal with it. So living in Florida for the last 4 years has been great! :)

12. Can you ice skate? Yep!! nope, I'm not very good, but I LOVE it!!

13. Do you remember your favorite gift? I got a quilt from my parents! I was 13.

14. What's the most important thing about the Holidays for you? It's Jesus' birthday!

15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? Pecan pie, and a peppermint-something-made in a trifle bowl, that mom made for Thanksgiving once...I think. :) It way a very long time ago.

16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? I LOVE finding the best deals on great gifts! LOL But on a serious note, I also love reading the Nativity story. I am so thankful for the Savior and what He did for us all.

cookie with milk

I don't have much time, as I should be in bed now, but just wanted to say we have a contract on a house, which means if everything goes to plan, then we will be buying said house when we move!! :D:D:D that's me excited!!!

You Are a Black and White Cookie

You're often conflicted in life, and you feel pulled in two opposite directions.
When you're good, you're sweet as sugar. And when you're bad, you're wicked!

pixelated

Hi there! I bought my camera yesterday. It's an unknown brand to me, but it was less than $50 INCLUDING the 512MB card, after the rebates, so I decided to take a chance on it. I got it at ecost.com, which is offering $10 off any $30 order (before shipping) when you use Google checkout. sweeeeeeeet. Last week, I bought P-chan's Christmas presents from Buy.com, which right now is offering $20 off $50 order (before shipping) when you use Google Checkout. PLUS, there is no limit to the number of times you get the discount, it just has to be multiple orders that qualify. When I made my purchases last week, it was only $10 off $30, so this is a much better deal! I almost wish I had more to buy. LOL

I found a great resource for titles and phrases to use on scrapbook pages: Miss Mint's Collection of Titles and Phrases. Fun stuff! :)

I was on the phone with my DSL provider for over 6 hours yesterday, over 4 phone calls. ugh!!! I have parental controls set, and for some reason, I (the master account) could not log on, but all the others could. I eventually had to re-install the port, which took over 40 minutes. Good thing I'd installed the external hard drive, because the re-install of the DSL took a lot more space than the original, and I still had to "emergency" move a lot of files. *sigh* Well, at least it's done with, and everything is working okay. On a "it's funny now" note, one of the customer service rep's tried to tell me that my Internet Explorer is what controlled my parental controls, and since I couldn't access the internet with IE, that is why my DSL wasn't logging in. what the freak?? Then she kept telling me that parental controls weren't set, since the command prompt I typed in the CMD kept coming back as nil. Later I found out she was telling me to type it in the wrong spot. ... I hate her. LOL

shopped out

Thanksgiving was great! :) And the day after was exhausting! LOL

Okay, first the food: GINORMOUS turkey (27 pounds, and only 10 people, LOL), gravy (made with pan drippings), yeast rolls, red jello, green beans with onions (which I had to pick out), stuffing (which had onions, so I couldn't eat! LOL), yams and blueberries (very different but YUMMY), and my special mashed potatoes. I went over to my friend's house for the giant feast, and another 2 families also showed. We're all military, and it's the last T-Day we'll all have together, as I am moving in 5 weeks. For dessert, another family came over, and we had pumpkin pie, cheesecake, and chocolate cake (because my bday is the 24th). :D yum!!! Then we played a roaring 7 rounds of Catch-Phrase (girls vs guys). I LOVE that game!! I will have to buy it. :)

For the sales: I truly HAVE to get a new camera (I've been without one for over 2 months), and an external hard drive is a close second, so that's what we went out for.
Since we have 2 cars this year (first post-T-day that we've had 2 cars), I went to CompUSA while P-chan went to Best Buy. P-chan reports that BB had a line ALL around the store, then winding across the parking lot. And they'd only let people in a group at a time, to stop the mobbing. Police were there, etc. And then the employees came out and announced that such-and-such was out of stock, and people would leave the line. LOL
When I got done at CompUSA (it only took me 10 min, once the doors opened), I headed over to our rendezvous spot, armed with my walkie-talkie, and after waiting for about 15 min, I decided to go find my husband's car and leave him a note. I found the car, was writing the note, and P-chan walkie-talkied and said he was driving out. LOL I had "found" the wrong car!!! Good thing I didn't get to leave the scrawled love note written on the coupon. So I started driving over to Target, and while maneuvering the parking lot, a car HIT me!! She totally backed up into my car!!! I was so stunned, I didn't even honk. Then she pulled in the parking spot, so I pulled in behind her, imagining all sorts of damage. Turned out my car didn't have a SINGLE scratch!!! Man, I am LOVING my old, plastic bumper!! LOL Her car didn't have any damage either, so I said, "Next time, check your rear view mirror." and got back into my car. Then we headed over to Target.
We ended up with 3 external hard drives (one is no-name brand, so we're probably returning it), an LCD flat screen for the computer, and some items for the move -- air beds, car emergency kit, and luggage (with snazzy 360-degree wheels, NICE). Notice I did NOT get a camera. LOL I'll have to buy that online this week. I had wanted to buy some long-sleeved shirts at Target, but they didn't seem to have them. :( BUT I did get Spiderman 2 and Batman Begins, for $4 each. They also had the Harry Potter movies for $4, but they were only in full-screen, and I'm a widescreen-movie kinda gal. I was sooooo tempted to buy Nanny McPhee, but the cheapskate in me won over (it was priced at $9). Then P-chan took the boys home, and I went over to Sears for some Christmas presents for E's daughters. And, amazingly, that's all I bought there!!! LOL I got home around 9:30.
Getting up at 4am was making me tired, but I let P-chan sleep until about 11, then the boys decided to lay down, and so did I. I slept until 4pm, and then decided to do all the returns from the shopping I'd done on Wednesday, and take a carload of stuff to the thrift store. I didn't get home until around 8, and by that time, I was exhausted again. AND, Fed-Ex decided not to deliver our packages (even though I called them that morning!!!) because of "a local holiday" (P-chan reported). Well, all I can say is, they better get it here on Monday!! *grrr* ....because I have to return one of them. teehee, it was an external hard drive, but I got a much better deal on Friday.

So how many gifts still need to be bought? I think it's 5 now. Not bad, for a starting list of 30. :D

birthday girl

okay, so I'm probably old enough to stop talking about it, but I really like it when people call me to wish me happy birthday!! :) So thanks to everyone who called today! Even if I wasn't home and you had to talk to my voicemail. :P

relieved

update on Kenshin: he's doing great! He still has allergies, but the worst is definitely over, and we're only doing the breathing treatments about every other day now. Eventually, he won't need them. I'm exhuasted. TTYL.

not my own...

Well, that was fun! :D

Kenshin has bronchialitis. It's worse than bronchitis, but not as bad as pneumonia. On Thursday, he started wheezing (after a few days of a runny nose, and throwing up twice in 3 days), so I called the clinic to get him in that day. Now, this is a military clinic, so the person answering the phone doesn't really listen, they just type stuff. I told her that my son was wheezing, and she said, "There's an opening at 8 am tomorrow." "I don't think you understand. He's not breathing right. Don't you have something sooner? If not, I'll have to take him to the ER." "Well, there's one at 2:15, but that's in five minutes and it's not long enough-" "I live on the base! I'll be there in 3 minutes! Bye!" And then I literally ran out the door, with Kenshin in my arms and Krillin running behind me, crying, "But I need my sandles ON, mom!" Anyway, we got there in 5 minutes, then had to wait 15 minutes. grrr!! His oxygen level was down to 95, and he had a temp of 100F. He was diagnosed right there in the room, and they started a nebulizer treatment right there. Afterwards, his oxygen was down to 93, and the fever was up to 101F. I was FREAKING OUT! They gave him another treatment and some ibuprofen, and he fell asleep. After that, his oxygen had jumped up to 97, and the fever was down to 98F. Hallelujah! They "don't know" if it was caused by a virus or bacteria, so they prescribed amoxicillin "just in case" (yes, I soooo enjoy pumping my son full of medicine which may turn out to be completely unnecessary, thanks!), plus the nebulizer (albuterol) and prednisolone. I had to wait in the lobby for the prescriptions, and was there almost 45 minutes (with Krillin and Kenshin running around like the boys they are), when Kenshin puked. LOL Good thing I held him over the tile floor, instead of just holding him on the carpet where he crashed. Actually, I couldn't stop laughing. I truly thought it was funny. LOL So then the tech behind the counter took pity on me (probably thought I was losing my marbles) and moved me "to the front of the line" so I didn't have to wait any longer. I did clean up the puke! I felt so bad at the though of someone else having to clean it, LOL. Anyway, he's been on the albuterol, etc since then. The nebulizer has to be done every 4-6 hours, which is very wearisome. for me! LOL He's so over it, too. We now have a system that works, though. He gets to "lay down" on his bean bag, on his bed, and I put the nebulizer on the bed, which causes it to vibrate a bit, which lulls him to sleep. Then he doesn't fight the breathing, and I get a few minutes (sometimes deca-minutes, lol) to either sleep with him, or pretend to clean the house.

well, I'm off to bed for a few hours before Kenshin needs another treatment. Have fun! :)

weird

I saw this on one of the blogs that I stalk (LOL, I'm just kidding), robin's, and so I felt like joining the fun! I know, she didn't tag me, but I don't have any blogging friends so I'll pretend.

List 5 weird things about yourself or your pets. Tag 5 friends and list them. Then, those people need to write on their blogs about 5 weird things, and state the rules, and tag 5 more people. Don't forget to let the people you tag know by posting a comment on their blog!

1. I have food allergies. I know, almost everyone does nowadays, but I think mine are weird. For instance: Lactose. Yes, that means milk. And almost everything that milk is in. However, cheese does not effect me, because cheeses are usually lactose-free! Next is walnuts, they break out my mouth. Then there's onions! Sometimes I can eat green onions, but if it's the white or red onions, you can kiss me goodbye cuz I'll be in the bathroom all night. And the next one is the one that really kills me, because EVERYTHING now is made with it: SOY. I am sick (in my stomach, etc) for DAYS if I eat anything with soy in it. And that's it.

2. I dislike chicken on the bone. I will not eat it in public, because the faces I make will make everyone else think there's something wrong with the food. LOL I don't eat "wings" or "fried chicken". And I certainly will not PREPARE chicken with bones in it!! That's just gross!!

3. If a medication has a "possible side effect" of making me drowsy, I will fall asleep from it. Usually at bad times, too, like right before a baby shower that I'm making the cookie-cake for. (Not that it happened recently.... :P)

4. I hate making business phone calls. I can call up someone and chat forever about this and that, but if it's for my job, I freeze up! I think it's from a very bad experience when this woman told me what a horrible job I had done, thinking I was someone else...yeah, that really popped my bubble. Sometimes I throw up, I'm so nervous.

5. I collect things. This includes postage stamps, rubber stamps, scrapbook stuff, and pretty things for my house. I love scrapbooking, and having the things, but I cannot find the time to do it! Actually, I could have done it just now, but I chose to write this list instead. LOL

Okay, now I'm going to tag some people! :)

Back from Chicago

So as you may know, I sell kitchen products for a well-known company. But they have this weird no-web-advertising policy, so I can't post a link for my website! So perhaps I'll "scrap" a picture with it! LOL
Anyway, I went to the yearly national conference, held in Chicago. What a BLAST! Getting to know the new products was fun, but I must say, the funnest parts were just hanging out with my friends. Penny and Jennifer are tons of fun, and it's a shame I only get to see Jennifer once a year. Also, I met a lot of new team-mates, and one of the "girls", Patricia, and me hung out while Penny and Jennifer went to the Director event. I ended up leaving my brand-new jacket and some chocolate (from the Hershey store) in her room, but we think it'll get back to me eventually. LOL
Okay, so some pics of the boys:

party pooped

We celebrated BigK's 4th birthday with a Birthday Extravaganza!!! Well, that's what my husband called it when he found out how many people were invited and that I was renting a jumping castle. LOL
In reality, it was Lisa that rented the castle, as her present to BigK. One of the nice things about the Base is that we get good prices on rental things like that. "On the outside" it costs around $150 for a few hours. Here, it was only $45, and that was for Friday afternoon, Saturday, and Sunday. I know, I can feel your jealousy. :P Once we got the jumping castle to the house, I realized that we have NO shade in the backyard, so had to go back to rent a 10x10 canopy. LOL
So we had about 5 families come from off the base, and another 3 families from here on base. In all, about 45 people were here.P-chan was more than willing to ferry the people from outside, since most didn't have cars and/or the required paperwork to get the car on. Plus, he hates socializing. LOL We had a "bit" of trouble with the barbecuing, so P-chan decided to just cook the hamburgers on the stove. Once Cooper arrived, BigK hung out with only him, go fig! :)
It was really hot, and our dirt is very dirty (as witnessed by the "v" of dirt on my feet from my flip-flops, which wouldn't wash off!!). But the bugs stayed mostly away, just wish I had remembered sunscreen for myself. Now I have a funky (=bad) farmer's tan on my arms.
The kids played "Splash the water on the fire" and all the players got a candy bar (which started to melt fast, ROFL). As you know, I'm a procrastinator, so when I realized I didn't have the game put together (that morning) I had to do it all at once. I was VERY thankful for Microsoft Word, because they had all the clipart that I needed. yay! And, though I do most of my scrapbooking digitally, I did have a package of colored cardstock, so printing was easy (my printer refuses to print colors).

In all, a very good party. And you know what? I have NO pictures from it!!! ggrrrr!! I was so busy running everything, that I didn't ask anyone to take pictures. On hindsight, I should have asked Keska. She's really good. oh well. sheesh!

busy

Quick post today, sorry! I know, you think my life is all fun and games, but my blog will prove you wrong. >_<

Today I woke up early to put some dishes in the dishwasher so the repair guy won't think we're slobs. The ice maker in the freezer made a nice ice avalanche in the freezer, so that was getting fixed. The repair guy first tried a "new" old one from another freezer, but that one didn't work at all, so he had to get a NEW one and come back later. Then took the boys for a Dr appointment. LittleK's ear infection is gone, and no mention was made of his fall a few weeks ago... I honestly forgot about it, until I got home and there was a message from a doctor's office telling me I had to make an appointment because Tricare had given them a referral. LOL uh, yeah, the referral was for the overnight stay! too funny.

P-chan and I went to the 3rd installment of our parenting class. Good stuff. I like that it's using scriptural references. And, the teacher is funny. And there's free food. Well, not really free, since we have to pay for a sitter, but ya know!

Then we just hung around the house. LittleK was being a BOOGER, so I put him down for a nap (haven't done that in weeks) around 2, then P-chan went to work at 3, then BigK fell asleep in the chair next to me at the computer, waiting for me to get done so he could play a game. No, I didn't take that long, he was just tuckered out. LOL And he stayed dry during his nap!! I was so proud of him! :)

When both boys woke up, we went to play on the swings, then over to MissEm's house for a few minutes. She showed me the cake for BigK's party this Saturday (yay!) and then showed me the clothes she picked up for my boys. She also handed off some PJ's and towels (her girls don't like them and LittleC is too big for them) and a bean bag! I have to make room for the bean bag now.

Then, we came home and the boys played outside. Too much fun with the hose, and they came back in. After dinner, they watched Blue's clues until LittleK's bedtime. BigK stayed up until midnight! I think I'm going to make Li's room, BigK's room after all, when she moves. So much for a scrappin' room. LOL He needs to get to bed sooner! I'm a wimp, I know.

Okay, that's it.

A duck's quack doesn't echo, and no one knows why.
so there!

thankful

LATE POST. SORRY!

Okay! very exciting week! Too much excitement at one point. My MIL (who is a nurse, mostly in physical re-hab) says to keep life boring, because excitement is dangerous to one's health. I agree!

Monday (Memorial Day) we barbecued with some neighbors that I admit I don't know too well. But hey, they were grilling and I was hungry and I actually (!!!) planned in advance, so I had kebobs and corn on the cob to grill. yay! They had a karaoke machine set up, but I was firm in my decision not to sing! They entertained us, though. I applaud them for their bravery, LOL.

Tuesday is when the real excitement started. The boys and I were sitting on the couch watching Blue's Clues. BigK was playing with the plastic cups leftover from Monday, so of course LittleK had to have one. He was sitting backwards on the couch, and leaned back to 'take a drink' from the cup. He lost his balance, and fell backwards off the couch onto the tile floor, and I think hit his head on a toy on the way down. LONG STORY SHORT: He was taken to the ER in an ambulance, they did a CAT scan, he's okay, but he did stay overnight in the hospital for observation.

I spent a lot of time trying to decide how much info to include in this post, but one friend summed it up: Less is more. So, yeah, LittleK is fine. :)

Leonardo

I'm not the only person obsessed with "The Da Vinci Code", so that's a good thing. I mean, if everyone else is doing it, right? right? Okay, lame excuse. But I really find the whole thing fascinating. Especially some people's and peoples' reactions. Anyway, I think it's the puzzles that I find the most interesting. That's why the games that Google and Eurostar put out have been really cool! I liked the Google/Sony game (it's over now), but it seemed like it was mostly a gimmick to make people more aware of all that Google had to offer. And? Well, it worked! I didn't know that Google Video had commercials! LOL okay, so I'm just in a cocoon sometimes, whatever. I did know they had, like, videos that people sent in or something, but commercials! YES! XD
But I had no idea they had a book search. Holy crap! very cool.. wonder if you could read the whole Da Vinci Code book that way?? **later** No, apparently not. The "about" section basically says it's for marketing purposes. And , oddly enough, The Da Vinci Code (book by Dan Brown) doesn't even show up in the search.

The Eurostar game is sooooo much better! Way more challenging in lots of ways. More brain stuff than searching capabilities, KWIM? The 2 I had the hardest time with, were the "4 buildings" from the first part...I has used Wikipedia for my reference on that, and it did not mention one that the game was looking for. WEIRD! ...and the "slider" game (the picture that you have to reorganize the squares to make the picture) from the second part. Anyway, if you're looking for help on the game, check out Student Rant, in the comment section for the post...lazylaces is also a great resource for tips! or feel free to post here, I'll see if I can help. Note: you have to have Flash player to play, but it is open to residents of all countries. I found the flash player to be awkward at times between game "sessions" or puzzles, but all around it behaved.

Now my question is: how many people playing the game(s), are going to see the movie? I'm planning to, along with my hubby. BUT, we're using free movie passes that we got awhile back, for donating blood. So I don't know if our tickets will count towards box office sales?

LittleK has decided that since he can open doors, he doesn't want to take naps during the day. guh!

chores done today (by me): laundry (3 loads washed, 0 put away).
spent way too much time on the DVC games, LOL

okay, going to bed. byeeee

Blue

Okay, so I realize I've been slacking on updating all y'all on my life, but like I say, not much happens. Well, actually, a lot happens, just not much I think all y'all would find interesting. LittleK has learned to open doors. yay! oh, wait, now I can't sleep later, pooh! oh, look! door handle covers! yay! The balance has been restored.

Oh, In case you're wondering, both my boys' names start with K. Since I don't like the thought of their names floating around in cyberspace, I call them BigK (cuz he's the oldest) and LittleK (the younger). k? k.

And I have to tell the BLUE story. Yes, my friends, something exciting actually happened with the kiddos last Monday. wait, no, it was 2 mondays ago. Yes. Allow me to set the scene:
I sleep late. It's just something I do. The kids are awake, and I half-asleep listen for things falling, crying, or bleeding. Okay, I'm not that bad, but I just don't understand how a night owl like me ended up with 2 early risers. Maybe their father (military man) explains it. LOL Anyway, I was half-asleep. I heard the kids come into my room, and then bigK turn on the water. I asked what he was doing.
"Washing my hands, mom."
"Why? Did you go poop?"
"No. I'm washing the paint off."
I sit up, but can't see anything because A)I don't wear my glasses while I sleep, and B)it's still dark in my room because the sun doesn't hit that side of the house until about noon. "What??!!"
"I'm washing the paint off."
We don't have any paint. "Where did you get the paint?"
"I didn't, LittleK did."
"Okay, where did he get the paint?" LittleK hasn't said anything to me, but I can hear him 'talking' to BigK and puttering around in my bathroom, probably playing with my toothpaste.
"It was in his room."
So NOW I jump out of bed and get my glasses on.

My boys are COVERED, head to toe, in blue. I just stare are them for a few seconds, then realize BigK is still washing his hands, and say, "Well, this isn't going to come off in the sink, so let's go take a bath." We walk out of my bathroom, into the bedroom, and that's when I notice the footprints. There are 2 sets of blue footprints leading into the bedroom. We follow them (backwards) from my room, through the dining room, the living room, the hallway, and into the room.

I stare are the mess, then push the boys along to the full bathroom, and start the bath. I strip both of them (not much work there, more on that in a bit) and place them right in there while the water's running. I realize the water is a deep blue, and for some reason I'm worried that the blue water will stain them. Yeah, I know. They're already covered in it, but I wasn't completely rational. So I announce that they would shower instead. They both like the shower, so this was greeted with whoops of joy. After the shower, in which a majority of the Blue Stuff (I still didn't know what it was) was washed away, I started running the bath again, so they could splash while I figured out what the heck it was. BigK had mentioned, while walking into the bathroom, that it was starting to sting, so I wanted to know NOW. I woke Lisa up to watch them while I investigated. And just in case you forgot, look at the pic again. LOL

Now, I don't want to step in the Blue Stuff, but I can't really avoid it, so I take off my socks and find a few old washcloths that I wouldn't cry if they got stained (I threw them away afterwards anyway). I just started wiping it up, then rinsing out the rag, and on and on. I finally found what it was! Have you ever decided to save money with the amount of printing you do from your computer, and buy one of those refill kits? We did, about 3 years ago, and used it lots of times before we discovered 123inkjets.com (yeah, free plug for them). Anyway, I never threw away the ink bottles, but after moving the computer desk (and trading up) a few times, I lost track of them. The boys had discovered and uncapped an almost-full Cyan blue bottle....This is what I figure happened: BigK discovered it, but has to climb down, so hands it to LittleK because he has to climb down, and so LittleK uncaps it and dumps it down himself. BigK has splatter marks on his legs, while LittleK has "tide" marks all down his legs, like the stuff ran down his legs. And then, of course, the floor is covered with Blue Stuff, so they splash around with their feet and hands, why not? I know I would have. LOL And then BigK remembers himself, neat-freak that he is, and decides to wash his hands.

I was able to get most of it off, but was too pleased with my "after" that I didn't look closely, so there are patches of blue in the um...whaddaycallit, not the grout...I have tile floor, but it's linoleum tile or something, so no grout. Anyway, some tiles are outlined in blue, as are some scuff marks that come with tile aging. ROFL
We'll also have to paint the door, doorframe, and the walls to either side of the door, but that's it. I'm glad that BigK's dresser has a decent finish, cuz the ink just wiped right off. *whew!* Here's a picture of before I cleaned up behind the door.

When I told my mom the story, she asked, "Have they put the new carpet in?!!" Because there was a rumor that us people in the "ghetto" base housing would get carpet. But they decided to dash our dreams of actual decent living conditions. AND BOY AM I GLAD!!! ROFLMBO Can you imagine?? The only room that would have had carpet, that wasn't touched by the ink, was Lisa's room. Ks' room, the hallway, the living room, the dining room, and my bedroom would have all been ruined! Thank you, God, for small blessings. LOL A few other things: my couch has a white slipcover. I didn't choose this couch, it was given to us by our very nice neighbor who noticed that we only had a loveseat. It's long enough for P-chan (my hubby) to sleep on, though he never has. LOL Anyway, the base is a blue plaid that I rather like, but have been informed by my two, "trendier" friends that it's not cool, so I keep the slipcover on (by the way, it's not really white anymore, it's more of a light grey with ink and food blots, but I'm rambling on...). But I had taken it off, the night before, to wash. It never made it to the wash, I was probably at a scrapbooking chat, LOL, but it wasn't on while the boys traipsed the whole house. So the blue plaid that I like, now has a BLUE area on the one arm, probably from the boys dragging their hands on it while they walked past. And the final thing: clothes. Blue ink does not come out. But again, we were saved. BigK does not wear clothes in the house. I say this as a general rule. He does not like clothes. He strips as soon as he walks in the door. And so he was naked (except for his diaper), so no clothes got ruined. LittleK was wearing a onesie, but it was one of those camoflage-designs. And oh yeah, it was blue camo. So the ink doesn't even really show up. The only clothes that were ruined, were my socks. I didn't even wash 'em, I just tossed 'em. They were from my old stash anyway. LOL Anyway, that's it for this story. I'll update soon. ^.^

high maintenance

k is calling anything in his sippy cup "milk"; doesn't matter if it's juice or water...I'm glad he's calling it something instead of just grunting, I guess.

K and k dumped out a container of coins in my bedroom. I told them to pick them up, then shut the door. It is now 1 hour later and I don't think they're picking them up! LOL meh! I should check on them...

Oh, that's wonderful. The coins are still there, and now so is a mess of chocolate, skittles, and sweeTarts. I guess I can console myself with the fact that they didn't get any on my new dry-clean-only dress. *sigh* My own fault anyway.

If I listen too closely to the sound my washer makes on the final spin, it sounds like the noise that the "metallice mound" makes on Mission To Mars (which, btw, is one of my favorite movies!). I was going to provide a link, but discovered that some people don't like the movie as much as I do. Which is disheartening...stupid critics! ... I'm going to eat a popsicle now.

And let me just say that I was a little steamed that I got a canned response. So I wrote this email:
-----
John-
Thanks for writing back to me. I'm Julie and I'm happy to help you as well. Please allow me to offer you some feedback on your response to me!

I'm sorry you sent a canned response to my message. It confused me, as I went to great lengths to determine the problem and report it properly. And my cache has nothing to do with a link having too many backslashes. However, I can safely assume that:
1. You read my email OR
2. You (or someone else) read other peoples' emails reporting the same problem OR
3. The programmer that made the mistake corrected it before too many people noticed
BECAUSE the problem is now fixed. People can now safely browse the different pages for selling and then click the "sell" button at the top without getting an error message because some programmer put one too many backslashes there in the first place. I am certainly glad to have assisted you in fixing the website!

And I hope you noticed the sarcasm, because I was laying it on pretty thick.

Give a person a fish and you have fed them for a day. Teach that person to use the internet and they won't bother you for weeks!

So my question is, should I actually send it? Is it scathing enough? Should I scale back? Or should I just let it go?

I have decided I need a GPS thingamajig so I can join the sport of geocaching. It looks really fun, especially the bits about how not to get lost (see number 8 here)! LOL

I also need a new printer...here's a picture of mine....it's so old, they don't even sell it...but the "new and used" one is $119??? what the? I only paid fifty for mine, just for the record. And the refills are cheap. funny story about ink refills!! oh, wait, save that for another post...

today

Had an uneventful morning. Of note: I was able to "wake up" for the kids, as opposed to letting Lisa yell at them for an hour or two before I finally woke up. Especially odd, that, since I went to bed late.

This afternoon was the Volunteer Banquet. They told us to arrive by 4pm, and when I got there at 4:10, I was among the first 15 (expecting about 150 people). I had hired my baby-sitter expecting to stay for about 2 hours, but by 5pm it was clear they had other plans. The program STARTED at 5, and for the next hour they gave out awards. I finally had to leave to "relieve" the baby-sitter, as she had another appointment at 6:30. But before I left, I asked the kitchen to get my meal to go, and I would come back and pick it up at 6:30. So I got the kids, and we headed back. My dinner was NOT ready when I got there, so I had to sit with the kids at the ESC table while they served everyone else first. I wish the lady had told me that when I first talked to her; I wouldn't have come back so soon. Finally got the dinner and came back to the house. yay! By that time, the kids had 1/2 hour to play before bath time, then LittleK went to bed.

Now it's after midnight, and BigK is still awake. It's Friday, and the neighbors wanted to grill late and talk later. I joined in, since I like them. :) I was going to bed, but can't sleep. Probably the 5 or 10 chocolate chip cookies I ate. *burp*

Okay, I'm going to take a try at learning some stuff in Paint Shop Pro now. see ya!

High Priority!

I chanced upon this site from the bottom of an MSN....um...well, message screen!
A Ditty 4 You
"High Priority" had me crying, I was laughing so hard.

A new use for dental floss. I just eat it out of the pan I made it in. I'm THAT white-trashy.

BigK likes to sing songs! Most of the time it's at the top of his lungs, and in one falsetto note, but boy are they fun! Today it was "oh my word! oh my word! oh my word!" since we're teaching him to NOT say "oh my g--". LittleK had to join in, of course. He doesn't say the words, but his pitch and delivery were perfect. *sigh*

Day 5 of P-chan gone. Only 26 more to go. *sigh*

I got some greeting cards today for 97% off. Yep, that's right! 97%!!! Yeah, baby! The local Winn-Dixie store is closing, so getting rid of everything. Sure, some of the envelopes don't really match the mood of some cards, but whaddaya want for 7 cents?? The Sour Patch Kids I bought are so old they're not sour, but that's okay, too. I also bought some scrapbook-type page protectors for about a buck a set, that's super cheap. I'm very happy to spend money and save at the same time. In fact, I saved over $200 today! hehehehehehehe

My hair is being mean to me. If I wash it every day, it's limp and lifeless. But if I go more than 2 days without washing, it gets too much build-up. What's a girl to do?? Seriously! What?? I'll take suggestions! I am trying to grow it out, which is why I'm stressing. Otherwise I'd just get it chopped again, yay for spikey hair! And I just realized it will take all summer and then some for it to grow long enough for my plans to take over the world. Oh, wait, I just want to donate it, that's right....

LadyEm just found out she's pregnant. That's her 4th in that many years. I keep telling her she's crazy. I'm concerned about LadyK's reaction, as she can't have kids but wants them. Especially since LadyK thought she was pregnant (and maybe she was), so was telling everyone "but don't tell anyone, okay?" And then she apparently miscarried. Back when I got pregnant with LittleK, I was dreading telling her, because I knew she would avoid me. And she did! But I was planning for that baby. LadyEm did NOT plan for this one. *sigh*

Okay, yawns abounding here! I should to to bed. But I probably won't. LOL
